Horror Review - Scream

Scream (1996)

Review;
This movie also completely changed the horror genre and every scary movie that’s come out since takes a little something from Scream... I will always remember the first time I saw Scream... It really captivates its audiences. (IMDB)

In 1996, when I saw this in the theatre, I was expecting to see a predictable movie. That we would just get bored with. But I was wrong. This has to be one of the cleverest movies of the 90's. Believe me, this was an awesome thriller. Wes Craven should stick to movies like this, it had a wonderful cast. Funny lines. Scary moments. Classic horror scenes that will keep you at the edge of your seat. A movie that you'll rewind and want to watch again and again. And after the 50th time you watch it, you'll say, just one more time.

So, if you have good taste, or are looking for something original, watch this film. And get the trilogy DVD set. It's a screamer!
10/10 (IMDB)

Analysis;
I have picked two reviews to analyses because, the first one says that it changed the horror genre and this is true because it was one of the first horror films to use post modernism is a good way, and this made the film succeed. Additionally this person says that the way the film is made, “really captivates its audiences” this shows me that scream is a good example for a horror film which has used post modernism very well. After this film was created, people started coming up with the key word “screamer” this was to signify what scream was about.

Also from the second review, the quote “This has to be one of the cleverest movies of the 90's”. A lot of people agree with this, this shows that it is a very popular film in the time it was made, but furthermore scream is still a very popular film, because we are on the third DVD and people are still very excited to go and see the film.
